Requirements for Sport Organizations

Ontario is a national leader in concussion management and prevention. Rowan’s Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 makes it mandatory for sports organizations to follow strict guidelines with regards to suspected concussions in athletes.

The DTCC is following the legal requirements of Rowan's Law.  All athletes under 26 who come to curl at the DTCC will need to view Concussion Awareness Resources and sign off on them.

The DTCC will be educating its members about the Concussion Guidelines, Safety and Return to Play Protocol through the website, discussions at General Meeting and through posted notices. The DTCC's aim is to make members aware of how to be safe on the ice, prevent injury and to also recognize the signs of concussion and what steps should be taken if a member is hurt.

Our curling facility gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Canadian Curling Association through its Curling Assistance Program.
In December 2014, our club President applied for a CAP grant from the CCA (now Curling Canada) in the Bricks and Mortar section. This April our club was one of 16 successful applicants (out of 75) to receive a grant of $8000.00. This plaque will be displayed in our club lounge. Thank you to the CCA (Curling Canada) for this much needed money, which will help defray many of the costs incurred  with our pipe project and other club upgrades.
